Rooted to Strengthen,
Growth Without Bounds
Alder & Ivy is a mother-daughter partnership that brings together more than two decades of Organizational Leadership, paired with an individually-focused coaching practice — a collaboration that allows for serving clients from the classroom to the boardroom, and from professional performance to personal fulfillment.
Organizations today face unprecedented challenges; Leadership shortages, high turnover, inadequate succession planning, burnout, limited supervisor development, and weak onboarding, to name a few.
At the same time, individuals face a parallel gap: many people move through school, careers, and major life transitions without ever having a coach to help them identify their strengths, navigate change, or build a path that feels genuinely their own.
Alder & Ivy exists to bridge both gaps — developing leaders at every stage of their careers, and supporting individuals at every stage of their lives.
Why Alder & Ivy?
The Alder tree symbolizes resilience, service, and transformation. It enriches the soil around it, allowing other trees and plants to thrive — it doesn't grow for itself, it grows to make growth possible for others.
That is the spirit of Alder & Ivy Leadership + Development:
strengthening leaders, teams, and institutions, so the people and organizations around them can flourish.
Ivy symbolizes perseverance, connection, and continual growth of its own. Unlike the alder, ivy doesn't need to be planted near anything else to thrive — it climbs, expands, and grows increasingly on its own terms.
That is the spirit of Alder & Ivy Coaching:
helping individuals build their own strength, direction, and path forward, independent of any single organization or role.
Together, Alder & Ivy represents both halves of growth: the influence we have on the people and organizations around us, and the growth we build within ourselves. It is a philosophy that holds true whether we are coaching a young adult who is just discovering their strengths, a professional navigating a transition, or an organization building its next generation of leaders.
